Neumarkt Galerie Cologne

A more than ten-metre-tall upside-down ice cream cone is the work of art by Claes Oldenburg which symbolises what is the most beautiful shopping centre in Cologne city centre. This is a refurbishment of Cologne’s former Hertie flagship store on the central and heavily frequented Neumarkt square, with integration of the adjacent Richmodis arcade. It is an inner-city shopping centre comprising three retail levels and direct links to the underground railway system and the former Olivandenhof building (now Globetrotter). The retail opportunities are complemented perfectly by use of the upper floors as office space and as the site of a successful day hospital.

A joint venture project with the involvement of a CONCEPTA managing partner, Bayerische Landesbank AG and Karstadt AG.
