Shop even smarter – CONCEPTA wins Netto for QUINCY in Cologne

In the middle of the current Covid-19 lockdown light Düsseldorf-based property developer and asset manager CONCEPTA announces the opening of another anchor tenant in Quincy, the discounter Netto. A long-term lease agreement was signed with the renowned grocer for an area of around 750 sqm directly at the forum on the ground floor of the quarter.

The settlement of Netto is an important step for CONCEPTA in the refurbishment of the mixed used project in Cologne’s Breite Strasse held jointly with Tristan Capital Partners. After the successful letting of the entire basement to the two major tenants Decathlon and Smyth Toys, extensive renovation works are currently progressing on the ground where food and gastronomy will play an important role in the future.

“With almost 5,000 items Netto offers the largest range of groceries among discounters and thus creates a qualified food offer on its city concept specially adapted to the location”, says Dr Andreas Martin, managing partner of CONCEPTA. The food offer is not only aimed at passers-by on Breite Strasse and the many residents and employees in the immediate vicinity, but also at the tenants of the 130 residential units on the roofs of Quincy and the employees of public broadcasting company WDR, who are spread over 9,000 sqm of office space on the upper floors. That is why Netto will also offer an extensive range of convenience products. Netto customers can easily prepare the items they have purchased at work or at home. To make things even faster, some of the registers are designed as self-scanner registers – smart.
